Outdoor Skills Lab: Winter Survival

You and your family have survived a plane crash and find yourselves in the vast wilderness of Lake Iowa Park. You are able to gather only fifteen items from the wreckage. You must work as a team to decide what is most important to keep to help you survive and to be rescued! After you have decided which items are important, you will learn how to use some of them to build a fire. Family groups who are successful will be able to enjoy s’mores!

To learn more about winter survival, check out our YouTube channel at Iowa County Conservation, find us on Castbox for our podcast at Iowa Nature Notes: Your LINC to the Outdoors, or follow us on Facebook at Iowa County Conservation and Lake Iowa Park to keep up with events!

The live event will be Sunday, February 21st from 1-3pm. If the weather is bad the back-up date is March 13th from 1-3pm. Dress to be outside and ready for the cold.

Please register by emailing Cecilia at chagen@co.iowa.ia.us or call 319-325-9341 for any questions.
