Spring is on it’s way and it’s time to shake off the cobwebs and loosen up those joints at a brand new event at Lake Iowa Park.
We have activities scheduled throughout the day for every age and fitness level. There are some activities you may have heard of and always wanted to try like Yoga or Kayaking. There are also some activities that you may have never heard of like Barre or Jiu Jitsu that you should come and check out!
We’re starting out the day at 9:00 a.m. by getting your blood pumping with Bootcamp led by Williamsburg Rec Center or a Wildflower and Edibles Hike with Maria Koschmeder.
Next you can try out our Aromatherapy Yoga session (at 10:00 a.m.) and Barre (ballet style exercise at 11:00 a.m.)with Athena Seye.
At noon Citadel BJJ with show us what Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is all about. Then we get you moving at the Silver Blast senior aerobics with Williamsburg Rec Center at 1:30 p.m.
Safe Haven of Iowa County will have some ready and willing walking partners available when they bring some of their adoptable dogs to the lake.
We will wrap up the days activities with a kayaking demonstration with our staff.
But that’s not all that will spark your interest. We have healthy lifestyle booths full of tons of information. Total Rehab will have physical therapists on hand to talk about a dry needling technique and women’s health issues. Compass Memorial Hospital with be on hand to talk about healthy activities you can do in the workplace. Hilltop Honey will show you all the ways honey can be included in a healthy lifestyle. Agape Chiropractic will show you how your overall health is impacted by keeping your body aligned. Athena Seye and partners will give you insight on how essential oils can improve your health and quality of life.
And, to top it off, we will have tasty snack and lunch items provided by Compass Memorial Hospital.
