Maple Sugaring Program at Lake Iowa Nature Center – March 16th 10a-Noon
Do you have a maple tree in your yard? Do you want to learn how to collect sap and turn it into maple syrup? Join neighboring Naturalist, Emily Klein, from Poweshiek County as she demonstrates the process of maple sugaring step by step. Learn how to identify maple trees, what tools and supplies you need to buy, tips for tapping trees, how to safely boil sap into maple syrup, and do a taste test comparison.
Free will donation for brunch featuring real maple syrup will be provided. Recipes and samples will be available for everyone who pre-registers.
