Its getting cold, while we spend more time indoors, wild animals are getting ready for the winter also.
We have set up a fun activity to get you and your family moving outdoors and learning some fun facts about how wildlife get ready and spend the winter!
Come out to Lake Iowa Park anytime the park is open from December 8th until December 27th, and take a hike on the self-guided wildlife trail! Along the trail you will find fun facts about how Iowa wildlife is getting ready for and spending the winter. Walk along the trail and stop at each sign to learn some fun facts.
The trail starts right behind the Lake Iowa Nature Center and loops around the pond, and then back up to the nature center. It is handicap accessible and is only .7 miles long.
If you come and take a hike on the wildlife trail, post a picture of you hike or a fun fact you learned about wildlife on our Facebook or Instagram page!
